Death, though people eventually accept the fate is never easy to live with. It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. And yet it is always a surprise when it happens to someone we know. The diocese if Chinhoyi has made it a point to celebrate the lives of the deceased diocesan priests and religious who worked in the Diocese of Chinhoyi. On Saturday the 10th of March 2018 Chinhoyi diocese gathered at Kutama College for a memorial mass of our deceased clergy. The diocese since marked March as the month to commemorate the deceased clergy as it is the month in which we lost our beloved Sekuru Helmut Reckter.
Death ends a life but not a relationship and that is why even in death people still feel attached to the deceased. The turn up for the event was really good, and therefore reflecting the respect and appreciation the laity still have for their deceased clergy. On this day the homily was delivered by Fr. S. Chigumbura. He emphasised much on how our growth is supposed to be directed towards sanctity of our souls. He also encouraged all to emulate the Mustard seed, as small a seed it may look but large a tree it becomes to lodge the birds of the sky.
May the souls of our dearly departed clergy, relatives and friends rest in peace.
